Using safe and evidence-based techniques, our colorectal surgeons are able to offer a wide range of piles (haemorrhoids) treatment for our patients from lifestyle modifications and medications, to non-surgical therapies and effective surgical treatment as a last resort.
ENQUIRE NOWThe anus is surrounded by many blood vessels that form vascular cushions. Any excessive strain placed upon them (usually chronic constipation) can result in these blood vessels becoming inflamed and swollen, which is what piles (haemorrhoids) are.
However, should you experience sudden and intense pain and swelling, it is a sign that you have piles that might have become strangulated or thrombosed — a medical emergency that requires immediate attention.
Suffer from chronic constipation, which increases the strain exerted on the blood vessels in the anal region?
Bring your handphone into the bathroom, causing you to sit for excessive periods of time on the toilet longer than necessary?
Regularly lift heavy weights, which places strain on the extremities of the body?
Eat more spicy food than your body can handle, causing frequent bowel movements?
Any of these will increase your risk of developing piles (haemorrhoids)!

Sometimes, home remedies such as such as reducing strain during bowel movements (e.g. staying hydrated, using stool softeners) may be sufficient to relieve symptoms.
After your treatment, personalised aftercare strategies and regular follow-ups will be arranged to ensure you are healing well; and tips on piles prevention will also be given so that you can minimise your risk of recurrence.
